You can either book an appointment as a private/self-referring client or obtain a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your doctor. If you choose to self-refer without an MHCP, please note that you will not be eligible for any rebates and will be required to pay the full session fee of $225.

A mental health care plan is also known as the Better Access to Mental Health Scheme and it offers a client several psychology sessions per calendar year. A mental health care plan also means that you are eligible for a Medicare rebate (you pay the gap between what the psychologist charges and what medicare will pay).

Our practice does not offer bulk billing as a rule, however this is at the Psychologist's discretion, and will be considered for concession card holders and people experiencing significant financial hardship.

Appointments are for 50 - 60 minute sessions.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please ensure you do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made on the day of your scheduled appointment will incur a cancellation fee of $100. To assist in managing your appointment, we send reminder text messages in advance.

Please note that cancelling in advance also allows us to offer the appointment to someone on our waitlist, which is greatly appreciated.

You can still use the same MHCP as it is in your name and transfers with you to your new Psychologist.

We recommend calling or emailing us to book your appointment as soon as possible, as availability varies. We recommend booking several sessions in advance, with approximately 2-3 weeks between each appointment. We also have a waitlist, so if you're looking for an earlier session, we can add you to the list and contact you if any cancellations come up.

You can refer yourself to see a psychologist without the need for a GP referral. In this case, the full session fee of $225 will be due on the day of your appointment, and no rebates will apply.

PsyCA services do qualify for private health care fund rebates, but we always recommend that you check with your health care fund to determine if you have appropriate cover for our services. Please be aware that you will still need to pay the full session fee at the time of your appointment. After the session, we will send you an invoice, at which point it becomes your responsibility to claim back any eligible amount from your chosen health fund.
