Mirelda is a registered psychologist who works with children, adolescents and adults. She supports people across a range of mental health concerns, with a focus on creating a steady and approachable therapeutic space.
Mirelda holds qualifications in psychology, counselling and education, and is registered with the Australia Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a psychologist. She has experience in a wide breadth of contexts; private practice, schools and community health settings. In counselling, Mirelda works with anxiety, depression, mood difficulties and emotional and behavioural regulation. Her approach draws on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Schema Focused Therapy (SFT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). During sessions, mindfulness & relaxation strategies, play-related therapy and other techniques are used to facilitate engagement with clients.
Mirelda also has extensive experience conducting psychological assessments for a range of presentations, including cognitive difficulties, ADHD, autism, specific learning disorders and adaptive functioning. To guide accurate diagnosis and practical recommendations, Mirelda treats each assessment from an individual perspective and gathers a broad range of evidence and information to support assessments.
